thanks vanese! i have put a lot of energy into those albums. the newest "Scientific Illuminism (Is For Sissies)" is less commercial/more experimental, but is intended to put the listener into an altered state through the use of cymatics and occasionally binaurals. (the binaurals really are only effective when listening on headphones, however.) i played it for my landlord, who is a minister's wife, and her comment was, "wow, it makes me feel high like i'm on drugs, without actually being on any."

my response was "mission accomplished."

i may have been unclear. i am by no means passing any sort of judgment on anyone regardless of path followed. it is of course a personal matter to every one. i would probably be considered left-hand by many, tho i do not think of it as such. i tend to stay unbalanced by nature i think, so really i suppose i walk on both sides and neither. as i oscillate back and forth between the poles of "light/dark" magick for social change/personal gain like a sine wave. it is most definitely a spectrum for me, so i refer to it as shades of grey. i come from a chaos magick background (tho i started in hermetics/illuminism when young) TOPY and many years of solitary/partner work using very eclectic methods. now i am in a position where i have access to a lot more information, knowledge, and wisdom regarding "antient and primitif" methods of contact and work. i still go back and forth between helping myself and helping others with my energies, but it has become more and more blurry which is which. i guess those hermetic studies are finally kicking in! ;)

interesting to find so many who could be described as "left hand path" in a place like this. i myself am not left nor right, but walking the middle path. i live in shades of grey, in the spectrum between. it is not a dualistic black/white either/or place where i reside. forget all that two-valued aristotelian nonsense. i can have my cake AND eat it too. :D
